It's not very often I blog about workouts but today's training gave me a refreshing reminder of the idea of varying your training environment. Today my gym was a tree, an open field and of course some long awaited sunshine
Training variables like sets, reps, tempo and rest are well documented, but changing your workout environment is often something that is neglected.
So here it is.....
Workout 45mins, 3 bits of kit only- kettlebells, trx (and a tree), and a rumble roller.
5 rounds, 10 reps, 20 rest.
Kettlebell squat press
Trx press up to crunch
Kettlebell swings (2handed)
Trx rows (testing the strength of that tree)
Kettlebell lunge walk
So painful rolling and mobilising to finish
The essentials to this workout-simplicity, the freshest of air, no shows (not even vibrams) for some grounding, sunshine, and being amongst nature (I like the sound of birds,there I said it!)
So ask yourself this, do I always exercise in the same environment? Are you on some levels bored of that environment? If so I suggest broaden your choices, get experimental an feel as good as I did today.

Sticking in 2013!
Here we go....

Looking back and Looking forward
Its about that time, Happy New Year to you all. As we move into January traditionally this is a time people are starting missions to lose weight, change habits, improve Health etc. If this is you..... whats you plan? How are are you going achieve those goals and what are the steps and challenges you will face along the way? Or have you not even thought about it? Don't be alarmed you are not alone, January is a month of great intentions but so often by Feb the dream is over!
Over the next few weeks I am going to be posting a series of videos designed to help you turn goals into logical steps and dreams in structured reality..... sounds cool right? So be sure to tune in!!! I will try to put my usual goofy twist on the Vids as well.

Will you laugh today?
Hey guys
Its monday, how are you feeling? My big question is will you laugh or even smile today, and if not why? Laughter has a whole wealth of positive effects on the body, shown to release endorphins (the brains feel good chemicals) and improve overall mood and feelings of happiness. Humor and laughter can also strengthen your immune system, boost your energy, diminish pain, and protect you from the damaging effects of stress. Best of all, this priceless medicine is fun, free, and easy to use.
